Movie Review: The Best Years of Our Lives

This movie is about 3 men who meet on the way back to their home town after WWII. One guy is older and settles back into a nice job at the bank, but he drinks too much. One guy is plagued by nightmares, and can't advance in his job and his marriage is horrible. Another guy has hooks instead of hands now, and can't stand to have everyone treat him differently, and for some reason doesn't let his "swell girl" into his life. Then this movie chronicles their lives for a while after they get back, and their lives all intertwine. It was good. Better than most. Oh yeah, forgot to mention it was the winner in 1946-ish, beating out It's a Wonderful Life, which I haven't seen.
